The Golden State PTAC is hosted by the Kern County Builders Exchange in Bakersfield and serves various counties in the Central California region.
In addition to Kern, we assist businesses throughout San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties.

We are home to six Department of Defense military installations within a 150-mile radius from the Golden State PTAC office, totaling approximately $7.5 billion in annual procurement. The Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP) is now under the management of the Department of Defense (DOD) Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP) and has changed its name to APEX Accelerators. The 95+ centers, including the Golden State PTAC, will be transitioning to the new name in the coming months. Please note, our mission and assistance will not change. We are still here to assist businesses within our 4 county service area with all things government contracting – Federal, State, local and related subcontracting.
